Hutchison Rodway takes an entirely fresh approach to insurance broking and risk management

NO COMMISSIONS: any commission we recieve from insurers for commercial risks is rebated back to you, the client. We only charge a fee for the service we provide.

TOTALLY TRANSPARENT:  You will know exactly what your insurance premium and our service consists of, no hidden brokerage, no hidden fees.

COMPLETELY INDEPENDENT:  Unlike just about every other insurance broker in New Zealand we only charge a disclosed fee for our services, this avoids conflicts of interest with insurers.

Having gained considerable experience in the market, we felt that traditionally there has been a lack of transparency in the relationship between clients and their brokers. This often leaves clients wondering who their broker is acting for.

When appointing Hutchison Rodway as your insurance broker you will not be in any doubt as to where our priorities lie.  Any commissions to us paid by insurer refunded to you. At the beginning of your policy period we will quote a set fee for managing your insurance programme.  In most instances this approach will save you a considerable amount of money.   Furthermore, the advice we provide is completely independent; the cost of which is always transparent.  

We will not push you in particular direction motivated by a more lucrative commission.  We act for you NOT the insurance company. 

It is common practice for insurance brokers in New Zealand to receive commission/brokerage income and charge fees as well.  Often brokers do not disclose that they charge additional fees and if they do, very few brokers specify the exact level of fees they are charging.  We consider this a strange phenomenon; surely the client employs the broker to represent their interests.  The client should be entitled to know exactly what they are being charged whether is be commission, fees or both.
